We realize that many of the public health messages being shared on COVID-19 are hard to practice in rural areas and that access to supplies is an issue. We need creative solutions to slow down the spread of COVID-19 and protect individuals who use drugs, have underlying health conditions and /or may be elderly.
This 2-page guide for patients and caregivers provides harm reduction strategies for individuals who use drugs during the COVID-19 public health emergency. The guide provides information about the Coronavirus, how it is spread, symptoms of infection, safe practice strategies for individuals who use drugs, such as how to practice clean and safe hygiene and guidance on stocking up on supplies. This guide was funded by the Higher Ground Harm Reduction, Reynolds Health Strategies, Harm Reduction Coalition & Vital Strategies.
