Great Plains Quality Innovation Network

The QIO Program

Since 1984, Medicare Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs) have been a driving force for quality improvement throughout the country. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has transformed the QIO program to more effectively support the National Quality Strategy and looks to the QIO program to partner with and support healthcare providers and consumers in all settings of care. Our Award

On November, 8, 2019, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded a five-year contract to Great Plains Quality Innovation Network to serve as a Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) for North Dakota and South Dakota. Access the Great Plains QIN press release to learn more.

QIN-QIOs serving under the 12th Statement of Work will provide targeted assistance to nursing homes and communities in small and rural areas, those serving the most vulnerable populations and those in need of customized quality improvement. Through this body of work, CMS is focusing on results, protecting taxpayer dollars, and most importantly, ensuring the safety and quality of care delivered to Medicare beneficiaries.
