National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) highlights the importance of vaccination for people of all ages. To commemorate NIAM, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed toolkits with key messages, sample social media, graphics and educational resources to highlight the benefits of immunization across the lifespan.
It is critical to ensure that routine vaccination is maintained during the COVID-19 pandemic to protect individuals and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases and outbreaks. Routine vaccination prevents illnesses that lead to additional medical visits, hospitalizations and further strain on the healthcare system. This year, CDC is calling on its partners to amplify these important messages when communicating with parents, pregnant women, adults and healthcare professionals.
