WebEx: A Shot in the Arm for Immunization Registry

Immunization

Immunization rates, including flu shots, have been dropping in recent years.  Beyond the primary care clinic, vaccinations are available at pharmacy locations in drug and grocery store chains across the state.  Consumers receiving vaccinations at these locations benefit from the convenience and incentives. With so many options, the state immunization registry is a valuable tool  for ensuring medical health records are properly updated.Gain perspective from a provider, pharmacist and state immunization registry manager during this learning and action network event.

Objectives:

1.       Summarize the value of immunizations for personal and population health.
2.       Recognize the role of the pharmacist for vaccination administration.
3.       Prioritize immunization registry implementation.

Target Audience:

All healthcare professionals involved in tracking and administering vaccinations, including primary care providers, nurses, pharmacists, health information technology, quality improvement and population health are encouraged to attend.
