South Dakota Great Plains Quality Care Coalition (GPQCC) Quarterly Meeting
February 21, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm CST
The goal for these meetings will be to focus on needs within South Dakota and how we can work together to improve and implement best practices.
Next Meeting: May 16, 2023 | 1:00 – 2:00 pm CT
During the May 16 meeting, Jess Danko, MS, RRT, LTC-CIP, will discuss pneumonia and oral health; focused on a reduction in avoidable Emergency Department visits as a result of pneumonia. Every year millions of patients are readmitted to hospitals, and many of those stays could have been prevented. Katy Burket, RN, will share the Re-Engineered Discharge (RED) Toolkit, funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, which can help hospitals reduce readmission rates by replicating the discharge process that resulted in 30 percent fewer hospital readmissions and emergency room visits. Attend our Quarterly Meeting to learn more.
We will use the same TEAMS meeting link for each meeting.

I am Stephanie Hanson and I have been a nurse for 30 plus years. I have worked in critical care, L&D and coordinator of a pain clinic. I am passionate about this work am now able to look at health care from a different perspective. Because of my experience, I feel driven to help organizations achieve their goals and understand the roadblocks and reality of the challenges in health care. I am excited to work alongside of you. | |
I am Katy Burket and I have been an RN for over 25 years starting on the floor in a CAH (which we all know requires to wear many hats) and then for South Dakota Medicaid as a Nurse Consultant before moving onto to my passion in quality. I recently re-joined with Great Plains QIN and looking forward to partnering with Stephanie Hanson to lead South Dakota GPQCC efforts. |
