Medications can be lifesaving treatments that change the world. Unfortunately, if not used properly, medications can also lead to adverse events. In fact, adverse drug events (ADEs) account for over 1 million emergency department visits a year and 1/3 of all hospital adverse events. For these reasons, the Great Plains Quality Care Coalition is hosting a Learning and Action Series around medication safety.

The third event in the series, Medication Safety: What Matters Most, will introduce three models underlying medication safety. The presenter will review treatment processes guided by each model and discuss actual and potential outcomes for patients, caregivers and the healthcare system.

Webinar Objectives
As a result of attending, participants will be able to:
• Compare and contrast three models relevant to medication safety to utilize in an upcoming team meeting
• Discuss the implications of these three models in your practice or organization
