With measles cases now numbering more than 1,200 and spreading nationwide, protecting our “herd” through vaccination is more important than ever before. In recognition of the important role consumers and healthcare providers both play in infection prevention, Great Plains Quality Innovation supports The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) in promoting International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW).
Whether you’re in a healthcare facility or in the community, there are things we can all do to stay safe from infections. Display your support by sharing information about IIPW on your website, in your newsletters, on social media and any other means you deem appropriate. APIC has many resources and tools for you and your healthcare organization to use and share with others.
- Use pre-written social media posts and graphics and share with your followers. Be sure to use the hashtag #IIPW in your tweets.
- Share the new infographics that explain the importance of vaccination. These two-sided fact sheets can be downloaded and shared with your members and email lists. Social share ready versions of each infographic are also available.
- Check out the APIC graphics folder. Here you’ll find gifs, fun memes, branded content and stock photos to show your support!
Established in 1986, IIPW is celebrated the third week of October. APIC spearheads the annual effort to highlight the importance of infection prevention among healthcare professionals, administrators, legislators and consumers. Learn more on Facebook and Twitter (#IIPW).
