FREE Dementia Dialogues® training is being offered to communities in South Dakota. The program is a 5-module, evidence-informed nationally registered training course designed to educate community members and caregivers for persons who exhibit signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

This valuable training aims to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills to support individuals living with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias. Training can be completed in one full day session (8 hours); 2 half day sessions or over the course of three days (approximately 2.75 hour sessions).

Dementia Dialogues TrainingThe Dementia Dialogues® Course Includes:

Module 1: The Basic Facts: which provides an overview of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias, helping participants understand the fundamentals.

Module 2: Keep the Dialogue Going: focuses on strategies for effective communication, essential for maintaining meaningful interactions.

Module 3: It’s a Different World: delves into the impact of the environment on individuals with dementia and offers ways to promote independence.

Module 4: It’s Nothing Personal: addresses challenging behaviors, helping caregivers manage difficult situations with empathy and patience.

Module 5: Now What Do We Do? Encourages creative problem-solving, empowering caregivers to handle unexpected challenges.

This training program is an excellent opportunity for anyone involved in the care of individuals with dementia to gain insightful and practical knowledge, fostering a more supportive and understanding community.
