The Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion has some additions to their Move Your Way Toolkit based on the new Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
We all know regular exercise is good for you and it can help you lose weight. Many Americans do not get the exercise recommended for a health lifestyle. The good news is that it’s never too late to start. We can help by reminding individuals that they can start slowly and find ways to fit more physical activity into their life.
To get the most benefit, individuals should try to get the recommended amount of exercise for his/her age. The payoff is the individual will feel better, exercise helps prevent or control many diseases and likely even leads to a longer life.
Check out the new fact sheets, posters and motivational videos geared toward adults, children and healthcare providers [available in both English and Spanish]. Also, resources are available for those with disabilities and special health conditions.
