According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it is estimated that in American hospitals exclusively, healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) contribute to approximately 1.7 million infections annually, resulting in approximately 99,000 associated fatalities. There is an urgent need for robust public health measures to effectively mitigate the spread and mitigate the adverse consequences of these infections, and it starts with healthcare organizations.
