Convincing a patient, resident, a loved one of a patient/resident or an employee to get vaccinated can sometimes feel like an impossible task. As healthcare workers, we need to provide adequate resources and information so individuals have what they need to make the best decision. Simply relaying that a vaccination may keep them safe if exposed to COVID-19 may not be enough information to help them in decision-making.
The Immunize.org Web site contains resources and educational materials on vaccine effectiveness and safety.
Their up-to-date Ask the Experts:COVID-19 page has detailed information on the COVID-19 vaccines and features commonly asked questions. For example, ‘if I have had COVID, do I still need to receive the vaccine?’ The answer is ‘yes’. This response also includes detailed rationale and support for why an individual should receive the COVID-19 vaccine, regardless of his/her history of prior SARS-CoV-2 Infection.
The Immunize.org site also offers resources and answers on vaccine administration, scheduling of vaccines, contraindications, precautions as well as vaccine safety information. These tools are helpful as we work to combat vaccine hesitancy and increase vaccine confidence in our organizations and communities.
