Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) have emerged as a significant healthcare concern, causing discomfort, disrupting daily life, and posing potential complications, necessitating a deeper understanding of why they have become a pressing problem.
This presentation will be an informative session on the different types of UTIs. It will provide knowledge on risk factors, symptoms and the criteria for diagnosis. Interpretation of the results from a urinalysis and urine culture will be discussed, as well as treatment options for each type of UTI. Lastly, there will be examples of how facilities can implement antimicrobial stewardship UTI initiatives into practice.
