AHRQ’s Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder Playbook serves as a comprehensive guide for implementing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in primary care and other ambulatory care settings. Medication-Assisted Treatment is, by definition, a whole-person approach to care that combines pharmacotherapy with behavioral health counseling to treat those with opioid use disorder. The ultimate goal is to create a holistic MAT program that addresses all the patient’s needs.
The online, interactive playbook contains the latest guidance, tools and resources to address MAT implementation.
Released with the playbook is AHRQ’s Medication-Assisted Tools and Resources Collection, a searchable resource organized by topics to address a broad spectrum of patient and community needs. Materials in the collection were identified through systematic searches of published and grey literature, as well as searches for specific tools to implement MAT.
