Several Great Plains QIN team members joined nearly 2000 members of the healthcare community at the National CMS Quality Conference in Baltimore last week.

Our team was honored to receive an award, on behalf of the National Partnership for Patients Initiative, for “Diligent work, authentic collaboration with patients, clinicians and partners and unprecedented national impact on patient safety in all U.S. Hospitals” The Partnership for Patients Initiative claims success of 87,000 Lives Saved; 2.1 million fewer patient harms and $19.8 billion in cost savings.

“Being recognized for our efforts to improve care in our region is much appreciated. This is an exciting time to be a ‘partner’ in healthcare. Overall, we are experiencing significant improvement and making dramatic shifts in the focus on quality of care and person-centered care. As a result, individuals are experiencing better healthcare and outcomes, which is what truly matters. Thanks to all who share our commitment and for your efforts to offer the best care possible for each and every individual, every time. Good things are happening and we are seeing positive results, but there is more work to be done. We will continue to strive to meet our vision of making healthcare in the region the nation’s best,” stated Tina Georgy, RN, MS, Great Plains QIN Chief Executive Officer.
