Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) New Clean Hands Count Campaign

The CDC’s Clean Hands Count Campaign answers common questions CDC receives related to hand hygiene, from technique to caring for patients with C. difficile.

The campaign promotes compliance by addressing myths about hand hygiene and encourages patients to ask healthcare providers to wash their hands if they do not see them do so before treatment.

According to two new studies being presented at the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology’s annual conference, the secrets to get healthcare workers to properly wash their hands may be standing over them or “grossing them out” and showing them magnified images of what their unwashed hands actually look like under a microscope. Access the Fierce Healthcare article for additional information related to this study.
