Quality Improvement Advisor | Great Plains Quality Innovation Network

Jennifer Everson is the newest member of the Great Plains Quality Innovation Network team; she will be supporting nursing homes and communities as a Quality Improvement Advisor.

I have been a RN for almost 19 years. I have worked in a variety of hospital settings from cardiology, ICU, cardiac cath lab, urgent care, same day surgery, case management, and quality. As well as a director of nursing in a long-term care facility. I have spent 9 out of the last 10 years in quality working with hospitals. I worked for SDAHO for over 4 years on the Hospital Improvement Innovation Network, (HIIN) where I had the privilege of working with South Dakota hospitals on patient safety and readmissions.

I have the privilege of serving as a Quality Improvement Advisor to support the healthcare provider community. I absolutely love working in quality and finding ways to improve processes to increase patient safety and care transitions. I have a special passion for understanding and articulating quality measures, tracking and trending data. But at the end of the day, I most enjoy creating relationships with our partners and being able to support them with quality improvement.

I am married to my wonderful husband and we have 4 children (Ages 10, 7, 6 and 8 months). We spend lots of time visiting the black hills (hiking, shed hunting, fishing), running around to kids’ activities and following high school wrestling.

“We’re excited to have Jennifer join the Great Plains QIN team and share her unique experiences and perspectives, especially related to quality measures and meaningful data, that can be used in collaboration with our partners to advance the quality and efficiency of healthcare in the Dakotas,” added Krystal Hays, DNP, RN, RAC-CT; Great Plains QIN Regional Project Manager.
