Chronic diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes, require ongoing management in order for individuals with these conditions to stay at their healthiest. That doesn’t stop because of a pandemic, family emergency, or otherwise. For some, the added stress of the holidays may increase the likelihood of experiencing a heart attack or other acute event.
This holiday season, please utilize #HealthySDHolidays for any health messaging that will increase awareness about chronic disease risk factors, prevention, treatment, and management. Whether it be mindful meditation, healthy eating, or staying active in the cold, all these behaviors contribute to overall health and well-being.
Encourage others to share photos or messages about how they make the holidays a little healthier and use the hashtag #HealthySDHolidays!
