The Great Plains Quality Innovation Network team would like to celebrate the incredible people that you are, your incredible coworkers (including our own) and the places where you work! Thank you for all you do to contribute to your profession, your communities and in serving the patients/residents at the center of your work! During the month of May, we have many reasons to celebrate!!
National Nurses Day [May 6] On this day, we raise awareness of all nurses who “zealously seek to nurse those who are ill wherever they may be and whenever they are in need.” [As part of the Nightingale Pledge]. According to the American Nursing Association, there are more than 4 million registered nurses in the United States; and understandably, nurses consistently rank at the top of the country’s most trusted professionals.
National Nurses Week [May 6-12] National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6, also known as National Nurses Day, through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. National Nurses Week is a time to celebrate and recognize the contributions nurses have made in our communities. Take time out this week to thank those in the nursing profession for dedicating their careers to caring for our loved ones. #nursesweek
National Hospital Week [May 12-18] National Hospital Week celebrates hope and healing, and the hospitals, health systems and the women and men who support the health and well-being of their communities through dedication and care from the heart. National Hospital Week provides an opportunity to thank all of the dedicated individuals – physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and so many more – for their contributions.
National Skilled Nursing Care Week [May 12-18] National Skilled Nursing Care Week (#NSNCW), formerly National Nursing Home Week, recognizes the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The 2019 theme is “Live Soulfully” and celebrates how skilled nursing centers assist seniors and people with disabilities with living their happiest and best lives. #nursinghomes
