Health Information Technology (HIT)Improving care through improved utilization of HIT
Our goal is to support the transition of ‘eligible’ clinicians and hospitals to the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). The MIPS system is based on the following performance categories: Quality, Resource Use, Improvement Activities and Advancing Care Information; which encompasses EHR-related content.
We are partnering with a select number of physician clinics and Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in the region to improve EHR adoption rates, full optimization of Certified Electronic Health Record Technology (CEHRT) capabilities, workflows and assist with physician practice transformation. We are collaborating with stakeholders and Regional Extension Centers to showcase proven interventions that result in successfully meeting the requirements of the “Advancing Care Information” performance category.
Through our efforts, we aim to increase screening rates and delivery of preventive services for Medicare consumers, improve coordination of care among providers and increase consumer access to medical records that promote patient engagement.
