COVID-19 Staff BOOSTER Vaccination Champion Campaign

We have launched a new Campaign to celebrate and recognize organizations with high staff COVID-19 booster vaccination rates throughout North Dakota and South Dakota. Organizations that meet this milestone will be provided a Staff COVID-19 Vaccination Booster Champion Certificate as well as a press release to modify and submit to local media or post to the organization’s web site or company newsletter.

Organizations that have met the 75% (or greater) staff COVID-19 initial booster vaccination rate, please submit your current rate.

The mandates helped, but mostly all staff were excited to get vaccinated to help put an end to this epidemic.

We have achieved our high compliance of COVID-19 boosters early on by including the booster in our vaccine policy as mandatory with our initial vaccine mandate. We communicate with staff in advance of their booster coming due to give them time to schedule and ask questions. Most of our staff have been more than willing to receive the booster when it comes due and are aware this is part of our policy.

Although this was mandated for company employees, we did a significant amount of education to make sure the employees felt comfortable with the vaccine and boosters.

We had a high staff vaccination rate at the very beginning of the vaccine roll out and have continued to provide education on the importance of staying up-to-date with recommended vaccines to protect the residents. We made the decision to mandate the booster shot as soon as the recommendation for a booster shot came out. Our staff are given a week from the date they become eligible for the booster to get the vaccine or they are removed from the schedule. Our staff were very understanding of receiving the booster and the reasons why we were making it mandatory.

Good Samaritan - Mott

Our Staff that is up to date in their vaccinations saw first hand what this virus can do. Some of them had the first round of the virus and are just recovering from the effects of it. Most feel that this is a tool to protect our residents and families. Why shouldn’t we use it?

One-on-one conversations about vaccinations has been one of our best practices as each individual’s thought process is different. Having a conversation to provide specific education has been helpful. Granted, everyone can make the decision best for them, but these conversations have been the main reason we have achieved greater than 75%.

We have good leadership from our department heads. They are one of the first ones getting any recommended COVID-19 vaccines. We continue to educate our staff and visit with them as they are eligible. We are able to get individuals vaccinated through our local pharmacy.
