As National Immunization Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to extend our appreciation for your efforts to draw attention to the need for vaccination for all persons.

The final week of August emphasizes that ‘vaccines are needed for adults, too’. Often, when we hear the words vaccination or immunizations, we tend to think about children and babies. This isn’t surprising since there’s strong emphasis on giving children vaccines against common childhood illnesses. But adults, including healthcare workers, need vaccines, too.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), thousands of American adults get sick each year from diseases that vaccines can prevent. For patients with asthma or COPD, vaccines are an important step in protecting their health from serious diseases like influenza and pneumonia.

Vaccines are recommended for adults based on age, health conditions, job, travel and other factors.  This Adult Vaccine Quiz is for people 19 years and older.
