The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is committed to protecting people and the future of the healthcare, veterinary and agriculture industries from the threat of antibiotic resistance.
CDC just released new data in its Antibiotic Resistance (AR) Investment Map, showcasing the CDC’s work in fiscal year 2018 to protect people from antibiotic resistance in the United States and abroad.
New this year, the tool includes CDC’s extramural global activities around antibiotic resistance and highlights successes that followed Congress’ unprecedented investment in CDC’s AR Solutions Initiative.
Included below are the Fact Sheets for the four states that comprise the Great Plains Quality Innovation Network. Click on this link to view each states’ efforts to fight Antibiotic Resistance.
Our team offers outreach, education and technical assistance. We are partnering with practitioners, pharmacists, system leadership as well as consumers of care to help slow the emergence of resistance bacteria and prevent the spread of resistant infections. We are sharing information and education on the principles of antimicrobial stewardship, which is defined as ‘coordinated interventions designed to improve and measure the appropriate use of antimicrobials by promoting the selection of the optimal antimicrobial drug regimen, dose, duration of therapy and route of administration’.
