⇒ Powerful Tools for Caregivers (PTC) Class Leader Training
Offered virtually via Zoom, beginning November 29, 2021 – December 3, 2021 | 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Over 43.5 million family caregivers in America provide a vast array of emotional, financial, nursing, social, homemaking and other services on a daily or an intermittent basis. Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide tools family caregivers need to take care of themselves. Caregivers who take good care of themselves will be better prepared to take good care of their loved ones.
This training is for those who want to co-lead the dynamic workshop for family caregivers. If you want to begin or expand the program in the community or county you serve, now is the time! Registration deadline: November 19. Class size is limited so get your application materials in as soon as possible! Access the application and sponsoring agency commitment forms. Participants must be able to attend the entire training to become certified as a class leader.
Rita Ussatis, NDSU Extension – Cass County, Molly Soeby, NDSU Extension – Grand Forks County and Jane Strommen, NDSU Extension, will be facilitating the training.
The integrated training will equip class leaders to co-lead programs for two target audiences: caregivers of adults with chronic conditions and caregivers of children with special health and behavioral needs. The virtual delivery format allows class leaders to co-facilitate with another class leader outside of their geographic region. This format also provides participants from any location in the state to register for a class. Potential class leaders could be professionals or volunteers from healthcare, social services or faith-based organizations.
The customary registration fee is waived due to a grant through the ND Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services. Contact Jane Strommen for information about the program or the class leader training.
