Public health practitioners, professionals in the aging network, mental health providers, healthcare professionals and anyone interested in ensuring the mental health of older adults should attend this free, virtual event on May 6, 2021. This symposium is designed as a public discussion on the topics of mental health and aging, specifically related to the prevention, treatment and recovery support options and solutions for older adults with mental health or substance use disorders. The agenda features a diverse array of topics with a focus on ageism in mental health, social isolation, substances use disorders, barriers to care, community resources, promising practices, federal initiatives and more. There will be 9 sessions, including a plenary speaker, panel discussions and breakout sessions.
