A no-cost course Injection Safety Course (with continuing education credits available) can be found on the new, updated Nebraska One and Only Campaign web page. You and your staff can use this course to become a Safe Injection Champion and make your workplace safer for staff and patients.

Safe Injection Champions:

  • Stay up to date on the latest safe injection practices
  • Audit injection practices in their healthcare facility
  • Share new information with colleagues for continued competency on injections.

The course link is located on the right hand column of the Nebraska One and Only Campaign web page. Along with a link to the Safe Injection Champion course, the Nebraska One and Only Campaign website is all new, highlighting news stories and resources stressing the importance of the Safe Injection mission.

Other injection safety resources are available by clicking on the Practice Tools and Resources for Infection Prevention. While on the site, take a moment to look at all the great resources, including easy-to-print flyers to copy and share on staff bulletin boards and break rooms. Don’t forget to check out the free Environmental Services (EVS) training videos. These are a great resource for EVS staff and a great way to remind staff of ways to help stop the spread of healthcare acquired infections.

The national One & Only Campaign is a public health campaign, led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Safe Injection Practices Coalition (SIPC), to raise awareness among patients and healthcare providers about safe injection practices. The Campaign aims to eliminate infections resulting from unsafe injection practices. Learn more.

Preventing and reducing infections is a priority of the Great Plains Quality Innovation Network. Spreading and sustaining evidence-based practices is the core of our quality improvement efforts. Great Plains QIN promotes the One and Only Campaign by disseminating safe injection resources with individuals and the healthcare community.
