Prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMPs) are a valuable tool to improve patient care and coordination and public safety by reducing drug diversion and inappropriate use. This event includes PDMP staff from throughout the Great Plains region in a roundtable discussion on optimizing PDMP utilization. This session will focus on best practices regarding PDMP in a variety of settings as well as guidance on how to overcome barriers to utilize the PDMP.

 

Target Audience:

Clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, home health, hospice, public health, government, consumers and families, and all community partners who will benefit from a PDMP discussion.

Objectives:

Upon completion of the WebEx, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain best practices to efficiently and effectively query PDMP
  2. Understand how PDMP reports can be utilized to improve patient care and public safety
  3. Describe barriers to PDMP use and how to overcome
