Overview:

The presenter discussed identification, triggers and strategies to manage this type of negative interaction.

 Target Audience:

This presentation is directed to the long-term care setting. Physicians, nurses, and other nursing home staff are invited to attend.

 Objectives:
  1. Identify consequences of Resident-to-Resident Negative Interactions (RRNI) in dementia in LTC homes (including psychological, physical injuries and deaths)
  2. Identify common contributing factors, causes and situational triggers of episodes of RRNI
  3. Identify key psychosocial strategies for prevention and de-escalation of episodes of RRNI
