Learn the recommended techniques for taking blood pressure (BP)

Evaluation of blood pressure is essential in assessing cardiovascular health. As a standard part of many physicians’ office workflows, measuring blood pressure may seem like a normal routine, but seemingly minor issues can impact blood pressure measurement. This webinar will address the importance of accuracy in blood pressure measurement in the identification and management of hypertension. Tools for education, workflow and protocols will be shared. The session will also include demonstration of proper blood pressure cuff sizing, how to take a blood pressure and alternate blood pressure measurement sites.

Target Audience:

Nurses, CNAs, and other healthcare professionals responsible for measuring patient blood pressures would benefit from this educational event to promote consistency of blood pressure measurement throughout your facility.

Objectives:

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand why accuracy in blood pressure measurement is critical in identification and management of hypertension
  2. Identify basic lifestyle recommendations to lower BP
  3. Recommend tools for education, workflow and an approved protocol for use to improve identification and management of people with elevated BP
  4. Demonstrate proper sizing of a BP cuff and how to take a blood pressure
  5. Discuss alternate BP measurement sites
