Puzzle letters spelling health care

CMS last week (4/23/2020) updated its infection control guidance for home health agencies participating in Medicare and Medicaid and for religious non-medical health care institutions participating in Medicare.

The home health updates include additional information about CMS waivers and regulations; Centers for Disease and Control guidance for optimizing personal protective equipment; CDC return-to-work criteria for health care personnel with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 and recommendations for home health personnel who care for patients in assisted and independent living facilities.

Infection prevention and control in healthcare is complex and involves the patient, family, caregivers, agency leaders and staff. The Great Plains Quality Innovation Network team developed a toolkit to meet a gap in infection prevention resources to help reduce Acute Care Hospitalization (ACH) related to respiratory, urinary tract and wound infections.
