Ensuring Safe and Quality Care in Nursing Homes

Nursing Home Care

More than 1.4 million Americans are living in our nation’s 15,600 nursing homes. Nursing homes across the country are committed to providing high quality, compassionate and person-centered care.

Great Plains QIN is working with nursing homes across the region to:

  • Reduce the use of antipsychotic medications
  • Increase resident independence
  • Improve the quality of care
  • Reduce pressure ulcers the use of restraints
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable living environment

Understanding and promoting high quality care in nursing homes is important to all of us. There are many ways to get involved to help ensure the highest quality of care is being offered to older adults who reside in nursing homes.
